The politician was giving an electioneering speech in Coaldale, Alberta. He praised the local community for the wonderful work they were doing and indicated what wonderful farmers he thought them to be.

Waving his arms in a grandiose gesture he said, “You see everywhere fields that have been plowed and planted. Very soon now, the forces of nature will cause the fields to produce a beautiful crop of corn, just one of nature’s miracles.”

A voice from the crowd replied, “It’d sure be a miracle – we planted wheat.”
