Redneck Chicken Non-Hatchery
Laying advice for Bubba’s hens

Bubba bought a dozen eggs at the nearby Safeway last week, but none of the eggs hatched for him. So he wrote a letter to the editor of the Wisconsin Poultry Journal. It read, “How long should a hen remain on the eggs?”

The editor replied, “Three weeks for chickens and four weeks for ducks.”

Three weeks passed and the editor received a second letter from Bubba.

“Thank you very much for your kind advice. The hen remained on the eggs for three weeks, and there were no chickens hatched, and I did not want ducks, so I took the hen off the nest and sold the eggs.”
