Toastmaster’s Uninspiring Speech
Alex’s first Toastmasters speech was going very poorly. One by one, members of
the audience got up and left the auditorium. When he finished, there was only
one man remaining in his seat.
Alex put his speech in his pocket and walked over to the man.
“Thank you for staying,” said Alex.
“You’re welcome,” said the other man.
“But please tell me,” Alex asked, “why didn’t you leave with everybody else?”
The man took a folded piece of paper form his jacket pocket and said, “Because
I’m the next speaker.”
