NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) covers the
George Washington bronze statue at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day rally
(MLK Day) at the state house in Columbia, South Carolina on January 17, 2011.
The “box” was used to conceal the “Father of His Country”
from view so that participants would not be offended by his presence.
