All owls have features quite diverse,
That victims on occasion curse.
Their forward-facing eyes surprise,
So large, they almost hypnotise;
And set so deep just like a cat,
In disc-like face that's almost flat.
The hunted no doubt feel aghast,
When in Owl's fatal vortex cast.
With camouflage and hawk-like beak,
In stealth owls swoop on quarries weak.
So quiet in fact, some mice seem deaf,
To hoots pitched in the treble clef!
Though not apparent from their song,
Most owls appear robust and strong.
One surmises that their eyes so bright,
Build in protection, day and night.
With talons sharp and winged backpack,
The owl is well geared to attack;
He does the deed as prey he spies,
It's just a case then, when it dies.
Yet whether crested, eagle, barn,
Or other owls near moat or tarn,
May they build nests and copulate,
And thus ne'er cease to fascinate.
