Short Tennis Payment
Two business
acquaintances decide to play tennis at the private club to which one of them belongs. When
they are in the locker room, about to change, the visitor realizes he has only his tennis
shirt but no shorts... The two go up to the pro shop. The visitor is astounded to find
that the least expensive tennis shorts are $200. Since it is buy them or not play, he
hands over his plastic and they manage to get a few games in.
A few weeks later they agree to play at the other fellow's club. The visitor this time
volunteers to supply the balls for the game and they stop in the pro shop where he finds
that cans of balls are $50. When the visitor expresses great surprise at this, the club
member responds by reminding the visitor "Yeah, I noticed at your club they get you
by the shorts."
