Zero tolerance
 
Meaning: A form of policing that allows no crime to be overlooked.
Example: The police cordoned off the downtown area after the concert as they had adopted a zero tolerance approach towards some of the unruly crowd members.
Origin: This phrase came into use in the USA in the 1980's. Since then it has been used in other countries.

Zigged when he should have zagged
 
Meaning: To turn the wrong way; turning in the wrong direction when running a prescribed route.
Example: If you've found joe-ks.com by zigging instead of zagging, hope you've enjoyed the site!
Origin: "Catch 22" - military airplane accident: they flew in a structure and one crashed when he zigged when he should have zagged - thanks to Sarit Segal.
