To commemorate the Dalai Lama’s April 2004 visit to Canada, the Buddhist Choir
of British Columbia (BCBC) has announced the release of 5 new world-first “Songs
For Spring.”
The opening “Celebration For Peace” ceremony (held at U.B.C.) honoured the Dalai
Lama – known as the “Ocean of Wisdom” and guest speaker Desmond Tutu. The
Dalai’s comments on intellectual depth, playful personalities, love and bonding
intertwined with thoughts on inner peace, with focus on helping others. Human
values of compassion, linked with a sense of responsibility and contentment lead
to thoughts about others in an altruistic attitude - inculcating children with
ethical values through systemic synergy of the inner being... blah, blah,
blah...
Backstage of the event, in an exclusive interview with joe-ks.com, the BCBC
practiced for their world-first performance. Here is a sound clip of their
warmup:
Completing their rehearsal, the BCBC were called onstage to present their
world-first “Songs For Spring” performance (sound clips courtesy of joe-ks.com):
BORING!!! But try
turning them all on about 1 second apart & create your own Chant-A-Long Song!
